You either have SOME studies in finance OR some on-the-job experience with finance (or both!:). This includes any sort of payments or accounting related experience.

What you'll do

General assistance with finance/legal tasks. Assist the Chief Financial Officer in his day to day work.
Monitor payments. Track everyone who must pay us, make sure they do it on time and there are no mistakes with the amounts.Track all of our payment obligations as well, make sure we pay on time. Substitute our Payments Specialist when she is on vacation, personally manage all our payments.
Collect financial info & make reports. Collect financial data, including company income and expenses in multiple countries, monthly expenses reports from each department, invoices from our contractors, etc. and compile everything into easy to use, clear reports for the CFO which summarize all our expenses, revenue, profit, etc. (using spreadsheets (excel)).
Do research. Conduct legal and financial research by talking to lawyers, accountants – serve as an intermediary who collects information and presents it to the CFO. Example of a possible task: find out the legal requirements and the tax rates for various ways of hiring a person from a new country that we’ve never worked in before — find out what the tax rates are, the legal forms of employment and advantages and disadvantages of each option.
Monitor contracts and identify risks. Review our contracts with both executors and service providers for us. Identify risks before signing them, then ensure that service providers comply with legal obligations (like respecting a deadline) and we comply with our own (like paying on time), report if anything goes wrong.
Help with task management. Track tasks from the Finance & Legal department and send reminders when needed. Attend meetings and prepare concise notes.
