Assistant Maintenance Manager

Required Qualifications
-Fluent English (spoken and written).
-Previous experience in trucking, fleet maintenance, or transportation operations
preferred.
-Strong organizational and communication skills.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with drivers, mechanics, and management.

Mechanical Knowledge Requirements
-Basic understanding of semi-trucks, trailers, and fleet maintenance operations.
-Knowledge of common truck and trailer repairs.
-Understanding of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
-Ability to identify and prioritize maintenance issues.
-Familiarity with DOT inspection and compliance requirements preferred.
-Basic knowledge of truck components including tires, brakes, suspension, electrical
systems, reefer units, and engine-related issues.

Responsibilities
-Assist the Maintenance Manager with daily maintenance operations.
-Coordinate repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
-Schedule and track repair progress.
-Communicate with drivers regarding maintenance concerns.
-Coordinate roadside assistance, towing, and emergency repairs.
-Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
-Monitor service schedules, registrations, inspections, and compliance deadlines.
-Review repair estimates and assist with repair approvals.
-Prepare maintenance reports and operational updates.

Computer Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Google Sheets.
Ability to work with fleet maintenance and transportation management software.

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with U.S. trucking operations.
-Familiarity with truck parts and maintenance terminology.
-Experience reviewing repair invoices and maintenance records.
